Consultation
Terra Consult and ESD Ltd, on behalf of the WMBP, would like to thank all those who took part and contributed to the workshops and consultation process. More information on the results will be posted in the near future.
Sub-regional/local workshops
Workshops have been conducted in 6 areas to provide more detailed exploration of the regional vision and opportunity map.

This series of short-day events was a key part of the consultation process - the central focus was to consider the draft regional opportunities map and to comment on its relevance in relation to your area. The event was designed to involve local experts and to provide the opportunity for delegates to contribute ideas and information to the project team. The workshop builds on the regional visioning exercise held on 14th December 2006, which kick-started the development of a 50 year vision for biodiversity in the region.

Objectives of the workshop

  • Refresh participants' understanding of the project, its aims and objectives.
  • Provide the opportunity to comment upon the emerging 50 year vision for biodiversity.
  • Examine and contribute to the opportunity map in more detail.
  • Begin to look forward to future steps in Stage 2.
